As a tribute to the late Neil Everist (1929-2016) who was instrumental in kickstarting our documentary ‘Straight and True’ which has now spawned The Mid C, we present the very first architectural film we ever made back in 2005. An exploration of the Hawkes House in Aireys Inlet designed by McGlashan Everist in the mid 1960s. The back story was not told in this film but it’s a great one. Neil discovered this house on the eve of it’s demolition and decided to purchase it, relocate it from Ocean Grove and reconfigure it from a single volume oblong to a U-shape courtyard home which he and his family enjoyed for years. Please do not watch this full screen on a computer as it was shot back in 2005 in comparative low resolution. With a narration by Neil Everist himself.
